There are also four class competitions in line with the 3J Class divisions found in the Motorsport Australia manual.
Class Competitions
- Class A: 0 - 1,600cc
- Class B: 1601 - 2,000cc
- Class C: 2001 - 3,000cc
- Class D: 3,001 - 6,000cc
- Class E: Over 6,000cc
These classes are further broken down into 3JA (early Model - pre 1987) and 3JB (Late Model - post 1987).
Engine capacity for the above is determined by the swept volume of the engine in cc, plus a multiplication factor of 1.8x for rotary engines and 1.7x for forced induction engines.
NB To be eligible for trophies competitors must have competed in a minimum of 50 per cent of the races held in the season.
CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS REGS:
i. All races from all rounds will score points towards the Championship and capacity class awards. In addition to the above points, the fastest qualifying competitor in each of the Under 2 Litre and Over 2 Litre qualifying groups shall be awarded one additional point. Ties shall not be broken.
ii. A competitor can score points in different vehicles during the year subject to para E.1, however points will be awarded for Championship or the capacity class in which the individual vehicle falls.
iii. A competitor may only score points in any one vehicle at any one event. That vehicle must have qualified for that event so that a competitor may be able to score points. A competitor may change vehicles after qualifying, race 1 or race 2 but no points will be scored.
Pole Position for Under 2L and Over 2L receives a single point before the end of qualifying.
